Overview

Thermal Desktop® is 3D thermal math model builder PC based, and can be operated as an expansion module of AutoCAD® .

Since user-friendliness of Thermal Desktop® corresponds to AutoCAD® , users can create any models by merely selecting from provided primitive elements including any kinds of surface and solid and clicking on the point, and can edit the model by drag and drop.

Thermal Desktop® can import modeling data from other CAD as well as AutoCAD® .

Because the function for modeling includes automatic calculation for contact thermal resistance, multi‐layer insulation (MLI) and specific elements of the thermal control like as heater, Thermal Desktop® can create various models from electric devices to systems for spacecraft.

Users can easily create data base for material property, and singular characteristic like as temperature dependence, angle dependence and anisotropy conductivity can also be set.

Using thermal math model on Finite Difference Method (FDM) Thermal Desktop® automatically generates thermal network model of heat capacity and conductance, and it is transferred to SINDA/FLUINT.

With the case set manager function user can sequentially execute any multi-task, from calculation for conductance and radiation coupling, generation of 1D thermal fluid network model and execution of SINDA/FLUINT in analysis process, to post process.

There are various function in post process, like as display of contour and plot in addition to numerical display of thermal prediction, heat capacity and heat rate.

Advanced function

As advanced function, automatic optimization can be possible with SINDA/FLUINT.
With the parameters derived from variables already included in model, simulating optimum solution in accordance with designed value user set, optimum combination of parameters designer wants, can be obtained efficiently in short time.
Because of high degree of compatibility with other tools as described below, existing data can be made the most and exchange of information among projects can be easily done.
